USC Affiliated Hospitals
A partner of the Keck School of Medicine of USC since 1885, LAC+USC Medical Center is among the largest teaching hospitals in the country. Staffed by more than 450 full-time faculty of the Keck School of Medicine of USC and approximately 850 medical residents in training, LAC+USC serves 50,000 inpatients and 750,000 outpatients annually. Among its specialized facilities and services is a state-of-the-art burn center, a Level III neonatal intensive care unit, a Level I trauma service, a National Institute of Health-funded clinical research center and a HIV/AIDS outpatient center.
University Hospital is a private, 293-bed referral, teaching and research hospital staffed by faculty of the Keck School of Medicine of USC. Opened in 1991, this ultra-modern hospital offers some of the most sophisticated technology available. Among the hospital's advanced services are neurointerventional radiology, cardiac catheterization and interventional cardiology. Surgical specialties include organ transplantation and neurosurgery, as well as cardiothoracic, esophageal, orthopedic and plastic and reconstructive surgeries. The hospital is owned and operated by Tenet Healthcare Corporation.
USC/Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center and Hospital
USC/Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center is one of only 39 centers in the United States designated as "comprehensive" by the National Cancer Institute. USC/Norris researchers are leaders in basic research on the origins and prevention of cancer and the development of novel therapies for the disease. The USC/Norris Cancer Hospital, one of a few hospitals dedicated exclusively to treating cancer patients, offers advanced treatments in an intimate setting designed for inpatient and outpatient care. Treatment options include surgery and radiation therapy, the latest approaches to chemotherapy and immunotherapy, as well as genetic counseling for specific cancers. In addition, it features a "center within a center" that has been designed exclusively for breast diseases.
Childrens Hospital Los Angeles
Founded in 1901, Childrens Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA) began with four beds and served 14 patients in its first year. Today, the 314-bed nonprofit hospital receives 300,000 visits from patients ranging in age from newborn to 18. Through its multidisciplinary leadership in pediatric and adolescent medicine, CHLA has become a pioneer in family-centered care, and is ranked among the top five pediatric facilities in the nation. In addition, CHLA operates an internationally noted research program that has made significant contributions to children's healthcare worldwide.
The Doheny Eye Institute is recognized as a world leader in basic and clinical vision research and advanced patient care. It was recently ranked seventh in the nation by U.S News & World Report. Staffed by Keck School of Medicine of USC faculty, the Doheny Eye Institute encompasses six separate entities including the Doheny Eye Clinic, where Keck School of Medicine of USC physicians provide outpatient services for a variety of vision-related conditions.
Rancho Los Amigos National Rehabilitation Center
Rancho Los Amigos has earned an international reputation for its pioneering work in the rehabilitation of severely disabled patients, including victims of stroke and spinal cord injury. It was recently ranked among the top 10 in rehabilitative hospitals nationwide by U.S. News & World Report.
